As Co-President, John Davies oversees project development, design and entitlement He is also involved in property acquisitions and conceptualization.
Since co-founding Scollard Developments predecessor company, GenerX Urban Development Corporation in 1995, John has taken a lead role in project development, design, entitlement and construction, ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget with the interests of all stakeholders in mind.
Prior to starting GenerX, John was Vice President, Acquisitions and Development with Markborough Properties; at the time Canada’s 3rd largest real estate company with assets of $3 billion CDN. John was responsible for the acquisition of several Class ‘A’ office developments in major US markets including Washington D.C. and Chicago. He was the development executive responsible for overseeing the renovation and expansion of several regional shopping centres in Canada.
In 1980, John formed Land Concepts Ltd., a real estate development consulting practice, which grew from a sole proprietorship to a 30-person firm employing architects, engineers, landscape architects and planners.
John holds a Bachelors Degree from the University of Toronto, School of Architecture; Faculty of Landscape Architecture. He is a former member of the Board of Governors of The Canadian Hockey League and the former owner of the Oshawa Generals, Major Junior Hockey Club.
Projects John has been involved with are the recipients of a dozen urban design awards including the Governor Generals Award.
John is married with four children.
As Co-President, Walter Thompson oversees property acquisitions, conceptualization, and investor relations. He is also involved in property finance, sales and marketing.

Prior to starting GenerX, Walter was Vice President with CIBC World Markets; Vice President, Finance of a boutique syndicator and broker of real estate; an Associate with KPMG; and a Staff Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand.
Walter holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) degree from Queen’s University, and has been a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario since 1989. He is a past Treasurer and board member of The Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Beacon Hall Golf Club.
Walter has three children.
